I would love to... where do I sign up? Send me some details. I have a box of old hard drives that need lead!

Well that 870 Marine looks cool, but I would like to stay under $500.

Can someone clue me in on why there is so much talk on here about a Utah concealed permit? Please excuse me for being a newbie!

    Jim,

The Utah carry permit is a concealed carry permit, that a Marylander can get. It allows you to to conceal carry in the surrounding states - but not in Maryland. If you dont travel outside the state of Maryland - it is useless. If you do travel to nearby PA & WV - you could legally carry.

Maryland still does not acknowledge our 2nd ammendment rights.

    Oh ok, Thanks Rock.

So how would someone get a carry permit in Maryland?

I think I bought my 870 12 gauge (Not Marine) a few years back for around 200. It is a good take in the woods gun / clay shoot and I would use it for home defense if I didn't have other options. The only thing I would do to it is get a shorter barrel. I'm willing to bet you can grab one pretty cheap from a member here or at a shop.

Im thinking Jim is looking for a shotgun along the way of this :innocent0 :

But in all seriousness - if you plan on breaking clay birds, or hunting - a regular style/length "hunting" shotgun would also work for a home defense gun, where as the other way - a dedicated home defense gun may not work well for hunting or clay birds. I really doubt you will be storming buildings & rooms with a SWAT team, or taking it out on a boat with Navy Seals.

It really boils down to what your purpose of a shotgun will be.

Wow, nice video. The recoil would probably give me a black eye!!
I'm thinkin 18 to 20 inch barrel. And I like the auto loader too. Thoughts?
