7.62x40WT hunting build...pre build plans, thoughts?

so im going to build a hunting AR, would like some thoughts on the build.

upper:

Vltor MUR upper w/o FA
Midwest SS Gen 2 15" handguard
Wilson Tactical Stainless 16" Recon barrel
Seekins ATC SS comp
magpul MBUS front and rear
ACOG TA33G13 Green horseshoe 7.62x39 BDC w/ ADM mount
Wilson Tactical NP3 BCG
Harris Bipod

Lower:
normal lower (aero precision)
Geissele SSA-E fcg
whatever decent LPK i come across first
H3 Buffer
Vltor imod stock
umbrella corp grip 23
magpul trigger guard

i think thats just about everything.

my plan is to take most of the 5.56 brass from target shooting and turning it into 7.62x40...so im not worried about the availability of ammo.

ill derib a few emags to work for it as well

main load i will be running will be 125 GR nosler BTs, and/or sierra 135 gr matchking HPBT

anyway...the end goal for this rifle will be deer hunting, 300 yards will probably be the furthest shot i would take, while im sure the round and rifle will be capable of better.

For hunting applications, I'd get a longer barrel, but that's just me. Looks like a good build. BTW, Joe Bob's has a nice LPK minus FCG for $25...

sweet, thanks for the heads up

i thought about doing a longer barrel, but it seems like it would be a waste for the 7.62WT, the gains are really minor...honestly if it wasnt for the fact that i dont feel like pinning it, i would probably do a 14.5" w/ a AAC scar h flash hider (i love the look of them, not sure why)

I'd likely opt for a upper rec. that has the FA - reasoning behind that, your going to be forming most of your cases, might come in handy if you get one where the geometry is a touch off after sizing and doesn't want to fully go into battery.

yea true...i may go with a standard forged upper...really though if i had one that wouldnt chamber i wouldnt force it, id just eject it lol

Didn't really think about that till after I posted, but you got a point there.

With that said, I'd still opt for FA upper. "Better to have it and not need it..." and all that.

its nice out here, i love it...ill be happier when i get a job though lol
im not letting myself buy anything til i have some income

i just love the look of the mur upper, but youre right...ill just go with a forged upper

edit: another change, ill probably do .300 BLK rather than the WT...i like that the WT is about 200 FPS faster with 125 gr rounds, but its subsonic game is really lacking, and i like that versatility offered by the BLK
