Non-resident handgun possession in rental home

While planning for next year's vacation trip to the DE shore, a family member asked if I took a handgun each year. I don't, but it raised an interesting question.

Is it legal for a non-resident to be in possession inside a single home rental property, assuming the lease and the local ordinances don't ban firearms? I tried searching but the results were focused on interstate travel (which you can do) and non-resident concealed carry (which you can't).

Thanks.

Of course you can.

In Delaware, you may also Open Carry without a permit, subject to the same restrictions governing Concealed Carry with a permit.

In Delaware, you may also Open Carry a loaded handgun in your vehicle without a permit, as long as it is clearly visible, such as on the seat, or better on the dashboard.

But why not get a Florida, Utah, or Arizona Non Resident Permit? These are easily obtained, and they are honored in Delaware.

This site has a good summary, and has links to actual State government sources:

click on the "DE" box by the map to go to the Delaware pdf.

But do get a Carry Permit. Very easy.

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and the PDF link. I didn't realize a UTAH permit (and others) was recognized by DE. I work in a gun shop and don't need a CC while on the premises, so it's not something I've given much thought beyond that.

Everything you said was correct except for what I bolded. There are places that you can conceal carry where open carry is not permitted.

There are some DNREC rules (see some of the other DE threads on this) and some gov't locations where this applies.
