any surplus steel or tanker mags are gtg
tapcos will function, but aren't as durable
    promag are iffy

    get these

they cost more than steel 30s, but that has always been true of 20 rounders.

The milsurp Hungarian tanker 20rrounders are excellent mags. Perfect for the bench too. Not too long.

    Totally Agree +1
Bad thing is Hungarian Tanker Mags are going for over double then what I paid. I got a nice Pouch and 3 mags for $39 a couple years ago.

Totally agree on the tankers. Not only are they more compact, they are thicker and a much more snug fit in a WASR. They won't wobble and when installed, add structural integrity to the one part of the WASR that can surely use some- where the missing magwell dimples should be.

Go on AR15.com, click on the red Equipment Exchange button,
scroll down to AK mags..... then get metal Eastern European mags,
easier than Gunbroker. If you have real money, get the Bakelite mags.
Don't get any Tapco mags. yuck.

Stick with milsurp, the beefy AK mags are one of its strong points and you should look for all-steel or polymer with steel inserts. The best 20-rounders are the Hugarian Tanker mags, as said, there really aren't any other widely available options. I also use Chinese 10-rounders for benchrest.

In 30s I like the Bulgarian ((10))s but these cost more than metal 30s.
