So who does engravings for an SBR? It is my understanding that it is not required - is that true? This is for a receiver with an existing serial and caliber already marked.

Some time ago, I took mine to Quality Engraving and Design in Kensington, MD. They did a terrific job.

United Gun Shop (also in Rockville) engraves (often whilst you wait) as well. They did one for me when Engage was busy.

United told me that don't do engraving any more. Too bad since I have been there a couple times since.

That is too bad. In fact, they told me they'd just gotten some new engraving gizmo that allowed them to produce a wider range of engravings just prior to the work they did for me. Did they explain their reasoning for stopping?

Another potential option: Most jewelry stores have engraving machines, so if you're fluent in the legalistics of what you need and the jeweler's willing, that might be an option as well since there're far more jewelry stores than gun stores.

Jared is very anti gun. I'm guessing most are.

Why do business with anyone but a gun store?

Especially IP's that support the forum.
