    The companies had contracts with Shopify. The severances may have breached those contracts.



    You’re right and that is ripe for a lawsuit. I hope this gets as far as the discovery phase, love to see what info Cody can drag out of them.

    The free market fixes these things and Spikes and DD have their shops with other hosts now.

    In Cody Wilson’s book, Come and Take It, he tells how Stratasys, the company that he was leasing his first 3D printed from, repossessed the printer before he could do anything with it due to the press about him trying to print a gun. He details how there was a clause in the contract about being voided if it the printer were to be used for illegal activity (which it wasn’t) or... using it in a manner that negatively affects Stratasys’s public reputation — that’s what they used to sever his contract.

    Pretty funny exchange with their legal counsel detailed in the book.
