Who, and why, are most knowledgable in md or surrounding states on the issues of what restrictions enhance public sfaety, what are legal to impose, what are a waste of effort, etc. thanks.
That is an unanswerable question. Maybe, just maybe some law saved the life of someone. But maybe that same law could have caused the death of someone else. I personally don't believe that any restriction is going to help a law abiding citizen and criminals don't care about the laws on the books. So where do these laws come into play?
We are our own experts , no such law will ever stave off crime . It will make good decent Americans into criminals and the criminals will have a more free run of society .
How many signs have we all ignored ?? guilty . But let's put up more signs .
If Possesion by convicted Felon were actually enforced, it would have a major impact .
Other than that every other restriction is a waste of effort .
Or were you specifically thinking of things like no shooting within X feet of dwelling type regulations vs restrictions on ownership, purchase, carry, etc ?
Proximity restrictions for ( non- emergency) shooting could theoretically be helpful in some situations, but most existing ones tend to be more restrictive than needed already .
The law that says people who do bad things get locked in a box for several years. We currently have this law, but, Liberal Judges want people doing bad things on our streets.
If there were no 2a infringements, what could a person do with a firearm to harm someone else that is otherwise legal? Rob them? Nope. Assault them? Nope. Attempted murder? Nope. Murder? Nope. We don't need laws against objects, we need to enforce laws against harmful actions. 2a infringements just harm the law abiding that need firearms for defense from all forms of threats.
