My first handmade fishing lure that is.

    It's made from Poplar.

Hope it's poplar with the Largemouth Bass.

10" long from nose to tip of tail. Body is 5-1/2" long. 1" in diameter. No.2 treble hooks. Weighs 1.9 ounces.

Can change tail colors using plastic worms.

So it's easy to tell what it is then. Now to get the fish to identify it.

Needs to dry completely so it doesn't smell like paint, silicone, and JB Weld.

Needs a buoyancy test too. Will do a bathtub test tomorrow.

It won't dive if reeled in slowly.

Too much buoyancy with all that wood.

May need lead weight adjustments after testing. May need to shorten the diving plane some too.

Maybe it will look like a diving baby otter if I reel it in quickly.

interesting lure. Maybe put a small suction cup on it and make it a popper?

I can hear the fish now saying, "WHAT DAFUK WAS THAT!!!".

seems like they hit the heck out of the tail, so I like a trailing hook to catch them

seems like the tail hook catches more than the body hook, small lures are different

    looks good, try it

In my experiences, bass will have a tendency to short strike a long lure.

I'm gonna' hafta' dig out my kitty's li'l furry covered plastic mice that he liked playin' with and place a treble hook on it's ass end and give that a try. I can see the bass sayin', ":wtf: was da'at??? Only a dorkfish would go after that!!!".
