My brother in law is coming to visit us from his home in Delaware, and we want to try to hit the range at On Target sometime over the weekend.

My understanding of the laws / regulations in MD (which is admittedly weak since I'm still very new to this) is something to the effect that if you are transporting handguns in your vehicle, you must either be heading to / from a range or gun shop. But what about someone coming in for a few days from another state? Is he legally allowed to drive to my home with his weapons and ammo locked in separate containers in the car?

    Thanks!

Yes, this is covered by federal law. Unloaded, cased, with ammo separate, and locked in the trunk if a car and he should not have any problems.
