    Must have been the collet bushing difference I forgot too in differentiating between the series 70's and 80's. Maybe you guys wanted a little more detail like the swartz firing pin mechanism in the series 80's. Exactly true. Just saying!!

    The Series 80 doesn't use the Swartz system. Two different firing pin safety designs.

    Damn this thread. Because of it I'm much poorer as I just ordered a RIA GI model. Im sure I'll change the grips first, but I needed a 1911 and it fit the bill. I'm sure it won't be the last!

    If you want to empty your wallet a little more, get the fancy crimson-trace laser grips :)
