Looking for Town of Sykesville registered voters:

Not Happy with the recent passage of the speeding camera ordnance?

If so, be aware that there is an effort underway to appeal the passage of this ordnance. The short of it is that there is a petition circulating that needs 15% of the registered voters to appeal the passage. You must be a resident of the Town to sign the petition. But if you are interested in just helping we could use you too. Either way, PM me for more info.

    John,

I know. But when you need about 350-400 signatures, everyone count.
    Thanks,

    Follow-up

Just so everyone knows. We got the necessary signatures to get the ordnance subject to a referendum. We are the first jurisdiction in the state to place this "law" up on a vote. In other parts of the country when this has happened, the ordnance is voted down. The special election is to be held on May 4th. Thanks to all who signed the petition and helped us.

That's awsome. Get those revenue boosters out. And you're up in Novemeber Martin. Get that dirt bag out of the governorship. And his band sucks too.

    We Defeated it!

Well, the special election was today. We won. The speed camera ordinance was defeated. final tally was 208 for 321 against.

    It was an interesting experience.

I'm glad to hear you guys stopped Big Brother. I live in Western Howard County and I'm in Sykesville almost every week. I don't usually speed, but I don't like Big Brother watching what I do either.

It's nice to see that small government still works...............now if we could only get big government to work the same way maybe we wouldn't be in the mess we're in today.
