New marlin 1894CST are shipping with threaded barrels. I wish is wasn't stainless, but you can always cerakote and add wood.

Personally if I had the means I would love to take many old school firearms and modernize them with some modern manufacturing/materials..such as higher quality stocks/braces, grips, regular use of billet Aluminum, Carbon Fiber ,better triggers and sights, cerakoting/anodizing/titanium, mlok handguards/pic rails integrally suppressed barrels or threaded barrels etc.
I would start with the AK, old revolvers, lever actions, shotguns, 1911’s, literally everything Remington/Colt/HK lol
Getting my flame suit on after this post :)

    Nooooooooo !

The whole point of Old School is to BE Old School . Both to appreciate old school goodness for its own sake, and to be low profile . Why would you make it ugly and ill handling ?

As noted , no 29in OAL for lever actions.

    If your primary goal is to run suppressed , you are better off going with a .44 or .45 , instead of .38/357 . A large 240-300gr bullet @ +/- 1000fps is better than medium dia 158-180gr @ +/- 1000fps .

    Completely understand!

As a car guy I’ve always wanted to take a late 60’s Camaro and throw the latest drivetrain in, ie LS7 or LT4 with a T56 magnum swap, custom 2/3pc wheels and a completely revamped modern interior. Digital displays, Bluetooth/ Apple CarPlay radio, full electric seats etc.
However GM basically addressed that market by bringing a modern version of that classic/timeless body style

Similar to what Ford is doing with the new bronco expected sometime next year

It's a simple why not to me, so why not have the option to suppress. It's definitely a cool option. A lever action would be just a fun plinker any way.

Sometimes just because you can doesn't mean you should. I don't like it at all. What's next, a Tacticool black powder pistol?

    Oh wait....

Yeah I get that, I think a threaded barrel is a bit different. It has thread protectors if you don't need it don't use it. BUT if you want to use it, it's there. Does a threaded barrel constitute tactical in your book? Have any of you heard of evolution, these firearms and their manufacturers are evolving. They still produce the Brass Octagon Barrel Lever Action for the folks who choose to live in the Civil War era or there about.

    Have it both ways

I was discussing the original post in this thread. What makes you the arbitrator of what is good looking in my eyes? Look, you have your opinion and so can I.

    Who are you again?
