I called a few gunstores around Baltimore and failed to find someone I trusted doing a pin and weld.

I wondered into a shop I will not name [Which i've done business with before] near Baltimore.. and asked if they would do a pin and weld for me. His response was that he would pin it on but not weld* it for me because the weld was not necessary. He said that if the flash hider screws on his "pin would be so secure that a weld was not required"

I am fairly certain that the rep behind the counter was also the owner.

He asked me if why I believed it had to be welded and I responded ATF requires it be perm fixed at which point he actually started yelling at me with an outside voice that it wasn't required.

I drilled it myself and have steel pins / a $90 welder from amazon coming in today.

Duffy's does it...I believe $60 while you wait if they aren't busy.
That cheap? Geez, I may be going on a trip, then. Everyone else wants absurd money to do this, and I'd really like to P&W my 14.5" PCC upper to 16" so as to not need to Form 5320.20s every time I take it to VA/WV.
