The police union asked the Governor to break the law and suspend legal OC in Cleveland during the R Convention. He refused, saying ihe doesn't have the constitutional authority.

Good decision. Maybe King Obama will try an EO.

I think he learned from his ill advised vote FOR the awb of 1994.

There is much talk about "Suspending" The Constitution until after Cleveland is over.

    Can anyone say: Precedent?

There is a gun grabbing push afoot.

The head of the police union said that if Kasich doesn't have the authority he should ask someone who does. I guess the head of the police union never read the Constitution and does not understand the law.

Why would the president step in? It's the Republican Convention. I doubt that he would care.

The bad thing is the security zone was suppose to be 3 miles , ACLU sure saying it was too big. Hearing the fence is now within pistol shot of some of the places holding events

Media are having spasms over it.

Remember that the law-abiding will generally not be drawing on anyone unless in dire straits.

They want the public to believe that it will be a shooting gallery.

Personally, if I had the option, I would CC and be done with it. I would suggest the same to Ohioans.

I think he learned from his ill advised vote FOR the awb of 1994.

Well, he WAS the "deciding vote" to get it passed.

I don't think this has anything to do with HIS belief in rule of law, state law, Constitution, anything.

As others have mentioned, this is all kabuki theater.

You need to look for what the other left hand is doing to subvert our rights.

With so many Soros-funded progressive groups showing up to protest, knowing their penchant for violence, putting armed private citizens within arms reach (pardon the pun) of people who have a proven track record of openly assaulting those considered to be "conservative," how many "plants" will it take (meaning armed progressive terrorists) to start shooting, calling for more SWATZI cops in the streets, national guard presence to restore order and, God forbid, could this lead to the ever-popularly conjectured "martial law declaration" by his lowness, President Obeyme?

Not a stretch. Not paranoia, just observing the pieces coming into play on the gameboard of "Risk: Cleveland edition."

    Discuss.

It's as if this is the first time a major event has been held in a place with a lot of gun-toting regular people around...

    I'm hopeful nothing will happen.
