I picked up a Winchester Model 1894 that was manufactured in 1897. The rifle is a saddle ring carbine. It looks like a previous owner put on a rifle length rear sight, with no elevator. The rear sight is so long it touches the receiver and wouldn't allow for an elevator. At least, that's what it looks like to me. I've been trying to find out what a carbine sight for this age carbine looks like, but with no real luck. I was to put a correct period sight on it replace what I have. Here are some picks of what's on there now. I also include a pic of the front sight. I'm assuming the front sight is correct, but one of you guys will know better then me.
