I like my hi point. It is very cheap to buy, relatively cheap to run. Even the extra mags are cheap. It runs reliably, has a nice long length of pull, comes with some pretty nice nice, fully adjustable ghost ring sites and is plenty accurate. The downsides are that cleaning it is a bitch when you finally have to do it (at least you can go 1,500-2,000 rounds with nothing but a bore snake), you have to stick to the factory 10 round mags, and I have to admit that it is usually the most ugly gun at the range whenever I pull it out. (I have the original, Planet of the Apes version.)

I did check out the Beretta before picking up the Hi Point - it is definitely a lot nicer in every way, but it is awfully expensive. I just couldn't justify it.
