Where is that car located? I've been on many of the trails at Tuckahoe and haven't come across it.

We stumbled upon it by accident. The trail is up by Tuckahoe Lake and may actually be the Lake Trail. Markers are blue. It's actually off the trail by 20 feet or so but very accessible. I asked a park worker about it later in the day and he mentioned that the area was a farm donated to be a park years ago. Apparently there is old farm equipment strewn throughout as well. The car appeared to be just the body. The rear door appears to open to the rear.

Thanks - will look for it when we do our annual Fall hikes/exploring

Cynthia took a few more photos while we were at the aviary. It was feeding time for some of the birds. By the way, all these birds came to the aviary after being captured or found by others. None of them can be let back to the wild as they have imprinted on the people charged with their care. They would most likely not fare very well in the wild.

As stated before Tuckahoe Sportsman is a great long gun shop. They are who we use to purchase about 50 guns a year for our Denton VFC gun bash. PLEASE stop in and check out what they have. Great people and some good stuff in there. Don't let the size fool you, as there is a good amount of stuff in there. They are also a great supporter of the Denton VFC.

I hadn't heard locally it was donated, more like taken by the state and the owners given(compensated) what the state thought it was worth. I could be wrong as my memory of hearing that was a long time ago may not have been an accurate source.

It is a lovely place to spend some time though.

I just went mountain biking there last weekend. About the middle of that blue marked path is a place called Adkins Arboretum. We stopped in there and found a pretty neat shop that had numerous books on farming/gardening and methods of using plants for medicine, and wild edibles/non-edibles.
