Bad batch, I would guess. Hopefully CCI sends you replacement.

You're welcome to try the quiets, I don't use them and have a brick collecting dust. But at only 800fps they might not be the best for squirrels.

I dispatched 2 ground hogs at a distance of 25 yards with the 22 Quiets. Surprisingly, they function fine in my semi auto rifle.

A unmoded rifle made for 22 Standard Velocity Long Rifle ammo should not be operating normally with CCI .22 Quiets. There is a difference of 500 FPS between the two which is pretty substantial.

I have set up Ruger 10/22's to shoot CCI Quiets but it requires balancing the recoil and hammer springs and I I don't use anything but in them due to the increased bolt speed of the faster ammunition. Even though the receiver has a bolt buffer, it still isn't a good idea.

Yes. CCI Quiets are not designed to cycle in an unmodified semi-auto. Some will fire them semi reliably while some will not fire them at all. Buckmarks are generally built to fire HV ammo like Mini-Mags. In the old days you needed to modify the main spring to get them to reliably fire subsonic ammo. One reason the S&W Mdl. 41 came with 3 recoil springs so it could fire a range of ammo.

Been talking with both CCI and Winchester. Last night I opened another box of CCI subs with the same lot number and shot all 100 through 3 guns with zero issues. Tried the Winchester again from a different box and still had massive fail to fire rates. My conclusion is the CCI is too inconsistent and the Winchester is just junk so I'll be looking for a new sub hunting round. I've got eley, aguila, gemtech and federal that I need to accuracy test. Hopefully one of those is a winner.

I don't use subsonics generally. CCI Standard velocity is subsonic already at only 1070fps. CCI subsonic is only 1050fps so, not a big difference in velocity. Add a suppressor and you are well under the 1122fps average for sound barrier. I have CCI and Agulara (sp) standard velocity. Never an issue with CCI and nothing really notable with the Agulara (sp) just a bit dirtier than the CCI.
