Wolfwood's thread on the recent NY decision had me do some researching into NY Premises Permits .
They can remove their pistols from the 5 Boroughs , IF they have a specific seperate Permit for Hunting use . But still restricted to certain areas of NY State , and still forbiden from taking them out of state .
Meanwhile residents of NYC can obtain Non-Resident Permits from various states , and Utah classes are offered in NYC , and advertised in venues aim at NY residents.
While they can obtain them , HOW can they actually carry out of state . Ie , legally have possession of a post 1898 pistol , to be able to carry it ?
They can't legally remove their pistol from NY . They can't buy/ obtain one legally in a state where they are not Resident by Federal law .
The only thing coming immediately to mind is if they were previously Resident in a Free State , owned handguns at that time , and when leaving America to establish residency in NYC , instead of disposing of it , they left it in storage in their previous state .
Anything I'm overlooking here ?
