Not even 2 weeks and still no 3% antimony comments? Is everyone stuck in a running car in a cul-de-sac or have they been taken to the other side by JosephIV’s ghost?

Dammit. I came here to say that. It’s always 3% antimony in the .45 caliber shrooms.

Pure lead is not good it will make cleaning very difficult. Here is the correct recipe for a hard cast bullet, 2% tin, 6% antimony, 92% lead provides the best balance harder bullets at .459 Diameter.
Does anyone know what the alloy mix is for lead wheel weights?

Wheel weights have not been standard for some time. They are harder than pure lead, but how hard is a crap shoot today. Back in the sixties through maybe the eighties, they were a standard mix and Lyman, I believe, noted it in their cast bullet manual at the time. The best thing to do today is to powder coat. I shoot range scrap of all sorts from 700 to 2300 FPS with no problems.

If you don't want to PC, then the only thing you can do is purchase a good lead hardness tester.
