The best I can find is 7075 for $55. If you know of something better please share. Looking at a couple different winter projects.

    Thanks

Where you finding them for $55? I'm building one now, it's a fun project. But, I'll probably never make another. It's way easier and cheaper to just buy a lower.

Most 80% Lower receivers start as 7075-T6 forgings and are fully machined to mil-spec tolerances. The operations left to be completed are as follows/ fire control group, trigger pin, hammer pin, trigger slot and the safety selector hole.

Depending on the manufacture, you may get a receiver that needs more work than is listed above. Some of the differences are substantial.
In order not to waste money, be sure of what needs completed.

    NO NO NO!!!!!

Stay away from those drill press ones. I wasted $130 on that, it's a piece of shit. Do it with a mill or don't do it.
i did one of those exact kits in a drill press using end mills and a sliding vise and it came out wonderful. It's nice telling people I made it myself and their mind being blown.
