Just read this thread. What an emotional roller coaster. I carry a lot in DE. This change would have been terrible. Thank you for the vigilance.

Reading this thread just made me disappointed and then happy. What an emotional roller coaster this morning.

I always look forward to heading to the house in DE and being able to exercise this little piece of freedom my own state has taken away.

Thank you all for the judicious vigilance.

if you don't live in FL, you're a non resident, no matter that your address isn't on it. Yor DL does have your asddress on it, so how do you tell a cop you're a resident?

I don't think it would be difficult for DE LE to determine that even w/o your DL since the back of the FL permit looks like this.

i would not want to be a test case.

And I can attest to the fact that Del. State Troopers have no sense of humor.

They once threw me out of the state and told me never to come back. :party29:

I thought it was pretty impressive till a Navy buddy of mine told me he got thrown out of a Country.

Well, clearly the Delaware AG wants to limit reciprocity to resident permits only (but the resident/non-resident distinction cannot be lawfully made under Delaware law for non-residents). We will need to keep an eye out for bills in the Delaware legislature. I would not be surprised if the DE AG persuades one of this fellow democrats to introduce a bill allowing for this distinction to me made by the AG.

My guess is they were possibly trying to make DE residents obtain a DE permit and therefore not recognize NR permits from other states.
