Did a search through the threads and while I'm sure it has been mentioned, I couldn't find it. I need enough FDE paracord to cord wrap a buffer tube. Anyone know where I can get this locally? Locally being within quick driving distance from Baltimore.

    Thanks,

Bass Pro sells it, but I've only seen it in black. Some hardware stores (Ace) have it, but I don't think it is real 550 cord, with the internal strands and all. I may be wrong, but that's how I remember it from a while back. Good enough for practicing making bracelets and such though.

Have I mentioned this board is great?

    I just learned three things:
    1) Paracord better be "550" or it's not the real thing.
    2) There's a flea market in Joppatowne.
    3) There's a guy there who sells the real thing.

    Wrapping your buffer?

oh, you must mean the outside of the tube, as an improvised cheek pad?

Wouldn't this interfere with working the collapsable stock?

I'm sure I still misunderstand what you are up too; but sounds like a good idea for a sub2K.

Not to speak for Ty but I believe he is using it for a Pistol AR buffer tube.

Thank you so much for this. This is one of the most incredible places I've ever been. Went there today. Found the cord I needed within 5 minutes and spent about another 40 minutes walking around the place.

I fondly remember H&H trips from my youth, I thought it was the coolest thing ever that you could go someplace and grab a gas mask off the rack

Doesn't real 550 cord have 7 inner strings? H n H is still open? I remember going back 30 years the place was a wreck and the owner or son had a hearing disability. But they had all the good stuff.

Sent from my phone from somewhere in the world.
