In another thread a new MDS'er asked about 200 bar fillups for his PCP tank. It occured to me we haven't had a thread on this before.

Let's everyone list off places that offer this, and maybe we can add this to the page of helpful information , and otherwise spread helpful knowledge to MDS'ers.

I think east coast airsoft in bel air md can do this, but they may not have the proprietary adapters for all brands of tanks. Call them and ask.

Local fire departments will usually do it. Just get the fill adapter from Pyramid air.

This is a great question for a n00b.

You get a regulator for a scuba tank (or other high pressure bottle like a nitrous bottle), and that regulator has an input to accept common adapter for scuba and an output regulator that is geared towards whatever hookup your air gun has?

What kind of cost does that entail? The thought of pumping by hand to 230 bar doesn't sound appealing to me.

You can get the regulator, hose and rifle fill fitting for $100 on ebay, maybe even amazon. You can get used tanks from local dive shops for around $100 also.

My dive shop gives a little higher fill cause he knows I only use it for PCP airguns. I usually fill from 2000 psi and it takes about 35 up and down strokes to get up to 3000 with a Crosman pump. At 65 with arthritis, some days I am not up to it so I use my air bottle.

If I am just shooting paper or cans, I can get 32 shots by dialing down the pressure. However, if I am hunting, I only get 16!

I fill my own. I could fill tanks for people if they are close to me and willing to leave it for a day or two as I am always busy with work, toddler and wife doing dialysis 4 evenings a week here at home that I have to help with. I bought a small 4500 psi compressor just to fill my carbon fiber tank for my maurader. I live in Howard county. Triadelphia reservoir is just about in my backyard.

Might need to bring a tank to you. Gotta check if it's full or not. My first PCP rifle arrives tomorrow. I'm in Moco with the Patuxent reservoir behind me.

I believe it runs $6-7 per fill and often times available while you wait.

My daughter shoots precision air rifle events and we fill our scuba tank here frequently
