So, anyone have info on this allegedly "coming real soon now" product from http://liberty1911.com/?

I'd love to do an 80% 1911, but my metalworking skills are extremely limited and tools are nonexistent, plus I like the idea of tinkering with a polymer frame 1911. Yes, the mockGlocks are fine but I'm a 1911 guy at heart.

They're just vaporware so far, but does anyone know anything you can share?

Only thing I've seen is from Liberty, and that's just been the promo stuff.

This is certainly the unholiest of marriages.

I've owned a piston AR, and took it to Chad. I know of unholy marriages.

This may be an unholy marriage, but it's an interesting concept, and if they price it right, I'd snag one w/out blinking.

Yea... I've always thought that if I owned a soul-killer, it'd be in steel.

80% steel frame would run about $104 to $130 shipped. Or so I've heard...

i have talked to their Facebook guy a bit about this. They CLAIM (no proof yet) that their complete 1911 kits will start at $399 for a complete parts kit, slide, barrel and 80% frame. They removed about 40% of the internals by removing the grip safety. They are looking at an April May time frame for release. I'm going to build at least one to see how it performs and if I like it probably put together a long slide version in 10MM for hunting...And a steel 1911 frame will take you days, maybe weks to complete whereas this frame can be finished in less than 2 hours and the pistol ready to shoot in 3 hours.

Has anyone heard of any updates or rumors? I've seen no updates on their website and subscribed to their mailing list and have heard nothing. So far it's just vaporware but vaporware I really want. I wonder if they're realizing the cost of their slide/barrel kits might be pushing the cost higher than expected since an Armscor parts kit costs almost what they're projecting for the entire kit including frame and jig.

I already have a "real" 1911 but this would be an easy and fun gun to build and shoot. The drop in frame rails with the polymer kits makes everything so easy.

Bump for news - anyone heard anything lately, or is this still vaporware?

I had hopes, but I'm not getting them up too much.
