A Ruger American in 6.5 Grendel would make a great companion rifle for my 6.5 AR Grendel, and would use the same mags.

Why 6.5 Grendel in a bolt gun? Here a quote I found: :D

"Because a centerfire rifle that weighs slightly more than .22, kicks slightly more than a .223, and kills like a .308 would totally suck."

Wait, they make them in 6.5 grendel now? Hello nurse!

I’d been looking at a Howa barreled action to get a 6.5G bolt gun to go with my 18” AR-15. I may need to re-evaluate that (I’d already been looking at a Ruger American in .223 to complement my several ARs in .223 wylde)

Dat price. Man now I really want one.

The Cz looks nice and I have heard good things. When brownell’s has fheknone sale, under $400 shipped including transfer fees on a Howa barreled action and around $100-130 for a basic stock. That beats the Cz, as nice as it is by $200 or so.

    That said, that Ruger. Dang.

All of those rifles are shooting pretty darn good. The stock may need some trimming inside to be free floated, but it works well despite how cheap it looks.

Should be able to find one for like $370 on Gunbroker

I haven't, but I have a buddy in hagerstown who shoots on a farm at steel at around 800 and scores more hits than misses. He loves his. I believe him cause hes open about the misses. Lol. Either way, he loves his.

I really don't NEED a 6.5 Grendel bolt gun. I already have a 243 Win that has the same amount of knockdown energy; but i do love the 6.5 mm bullet and the fact that it can shoot 123 grain pills.

Also compare pricing to Whittaker's ...

    https://shop.whittakerguns.com

They have a 10% off promotion (using the coupon, MAYDAY, all in CAPS) that applies to many of their rifles, and some of the deals are really good.

They are sold out of the Ruger 6.5 Grendel, but with the 10% off there are some great deals there.

[EDIT] Heck, even w/o the 10% they have good prices. I am bookmarking this retailer.

Agree. A couple of examples ...

    New CZ452 American in 22LR ... after MAYDAY coupon ... $405 shipped ...
    https://shop.whittakerguns.com/product/ss-935

    CZ527 American in 7.62x39 with walnut stock ... approx $540 shipped ...
    https://shop.whittakerguns.com/product/24674

Many of the CZ512 semiautomatic rifles in 22LR or 22WMR are cheaper than I've ever seen them after the 10% MAYDAY coupon discount.

Lots of CZ pistols in inventory too.

Looking forward to the range report on your Ruger 6.5 Grendel.

Ready to go to the range. What's all this fuss about Ruger American rifles lacking quality? I think its fine. No problem with the fit of the stock to the barrel. Looks like they are using a real picatinny rail. I like that the stock has a rough texture. Some polymer stocks I have held are slippery. Topped it off with a Nikon ProStaff 3X9 and low Warne rings.

We shall see how she shoots.

Looking good, dreadpirate! Ruger's American bolt action line has been a boon to the firearms market.
