Here is one example I just built; one SBR lower and two uppers (added to the ATF configuration). 300 Black 10.5" and a new 14.5" pencil barrel mid length. The new setup weighs in at 6.4 lbs.

SBR reason: originally built for the M4 upper I used in Iraq, which now also has 10” .300 BO w/ Holosun (Amtac CQBm) and 6” .22 w/Vortex rimfire (old Thompson Machine)

With components being in better availability and coming in cheaper, I don't feel the need to do this anymore. I did the sharing uppers thing when I first bought AR parts, as it was very difficult finding parts and prices were outrageous.

I’m all about the aesthetics. I changed the stock on the rifle to match the look of the brace :)

I usually use various uppers on a registered m16 lower. That can range from a 22 dedicated upper , 9mm, 5.56.

But for AR15s. The uppers usually end up as complete rifles or pistols( or firearms ).

I have a “ beater AR braced pistol lower “ that I use for testing uppers of various configurations.

    Yep. I only have one M16 Lower. So it gets used on a lot of different uppers. .22LR, .223/5.56, 5.45x45mm, 5.7x28mm, 300BLK, 7.62x39mm, 9mm, .40S&W, .410, and what ever I buy next.
