While I'm not a huge fan of the NRA I am a member and do support them and take offense when they are attacked. I just came across a new plan of the gun grabbers - trying to get companies to drop their ties with the NRA. See https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/corporate-america-under-pressure-to-cut-ties-with-nra/ar-BBJuUAl?li=BBnb7Kz .

I'm sending letters to the companies listed that if they stop business with NRA i'm boycotting them.

This is a quote from the article:
"We have been just disgusted by NRATV since its beginning," Shannon Watts, the group's founder, said in a phone interview. "It really propagates dangerous misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric. It tries to pit Americans against one another, all in an attempt to further their agenda of selling guns."

    Rewritten for comparison"

We have been just disgusted by 'MOMS Demand Action' since its beginning, "It really propagates dangerous misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric. It tries to pit Americans against one another, all in an attempt to further their agenda of 'ending' selling guns.

At every opportunity, remind people that everything you can say about the NRA can be said about Planned Parenthood.

google is your friend, I am not.
This is not a new strategy. They've been doing this in one way or another through Media Matters or some other left leaning .or for decades.

All that's changed is now Bloombergs billions funds it.

    Huh?

You want people to associate an organization with "Parenthood" in it's title who's main business is abortion, with the NRA?

What's the opposite of "rifle" so I can complete the analogy?

Ask people if they've heard anything in the last week about the FBI agents breaking Federal laws to help a Democrat President get elected.

That's what this smokescreen is really about.

    Think about it though.

What is the NRA? A large and powerful lobbying organization that represents it's supporters. The NRA has donors and represents them on Capitol Hill using its power.

What is Planned Parenthood? A large and powerful lobbying organization that represents it's supporters and donors on Capitol Hill using its power.

What do Pro-Life people accuse Planned Parenthood of doing? Using its power and influence to block Pro-Life legislation.

What do Anti-Gun people accuse the NRA of doing? Using its power and influence to block Gun-Control legislation.

What do both groups have in common? Zealously using their power and influence to achieve the goals of their organization and organizational supporters.

Letter I'm sending to all listed companies:

    To
I have read that you have been, or will be, contacted by Shannon Watts of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America regarding cutting ties with the NRA. While I do not speak for the NRA, understand that I will be cutting all purchases of your products and services if you do indeed sever ties with the NRA. There are ALREADY laws in place in this country to prevent the use of firearms in criminal activities. There are also ALREADY laws in place to prevent citizens from possessing firearms if the citizen is found to be “prohibited” from firearm ownership. If these laws are followed, and perpetrators are prosecuted to full extent, these heinous crimes will cease.
Writing and trying to enforce additional laws to prevent criminals from their actions takes away resources from identifying “prohibited” citizens and keeping them from firearms.

This latest tragedy in Florida is a prime example. People knew this kid was dangerous, and the FBI was NOTIFIED about his danger, there was an armed guard at the school, and this kid was still able to cause a disaster. These are the real issues that need to be addressed.

    Sincerely,

    Fred

I do use AT&T cell phone service, Apple, Symantec, FedEx, and Hertz, they will be boycotted by me if they drop the NRA.

probably derailing the thread but an analogy I noticed watching the hearing on the HPRB abolishing bill is that the MDPGA (Moms against something) kept arguing "someone could get killed" and those against abolishing the HPRB "Citizens could keep their family from being killed". So, the moms were more concerned about strangers than their families so to say.
Handgun Permit Review Board is more closely related to being judged by a jury of your peers as opposed to one Judge (a MD Judge, no offense meant).
NRA- Lobbying for a large group of supporters vs. Lobbying for one person Bloomberg or Soros who have a much higher pay grade than I.

    Just an observation.

And the tactics of anti-abortion and anti-gun politicians are out of the same playbook.

We can’t ban this “thing” that we hate, so we’ll put in place as many obstacles as possible to reduce citizens ability to access that “thing”.

A lot of folks here bash the NRA.

Myself included when I receive requests for money every other day via mailboxes and inboxes.

Now is the time to pry your credit card out of your wallet and make a worthwhile donation.

Cuzz the NRA and the Second Amendment and Gun Owners are being hit hard.

No, the NRA isn't perfect. But I'll take half a loaf of bread over no bread at all. Glad also to hear LaPierre punch back yesterday, calling the Socialists out for just exactly the cancer they are.

The NRA isn't perfect...but if members of this community are not members, well, I think that's a problem...remember they did have a rep at the judicial hearing last night. Did GOA or 2AF? No, but I wish they would have....s

But you can't use your NRA credit card much longer to donate to the NRA...According to a news report on the radio this morning, the Nebraska bank that administers the NRA Visa is dropping them once their contract is up later this year.

I cancelled my NRA Visa tonight, why wait? They don't like my money, and our only connection was my money.

This is a good time to join the NRA if you are not a member, or if your membership temporarily lapsed, but don't forget the NRA Political Victory Fund which in my opinion is the best PAC I ever contributed to. There they are not blinded by party labels, it is a single issue PAC and the issue is the Second Amendment. I got more bang for the buck out of them in the last election cycle than any other group.

Going after NRATV proves that the 1A is as much of a target as the 2A. Something most of us already knew.

Oh yeah, LifeHacker followers were commenting about wanting to change the roots of the internet to better block things like NRATV.
