Well, this about as good as this rifle will shoot with the Crossman 500pk Hollow Points. It was bench rested and using the factory (plastic) scope that tracks horribly haha!

I have some nicer pellets coming next week that I’m curious to see if that tightens up. These heavier (advertised at 14.3gr) pellets stabilized much better than the lightweight ones I first tried (9.6 gr)

Breakbarrels don't always show well when bench shooting. Try it again, if you can, by leaning over your car or pickup keeping your off hand loose on the forearm and no rests. You may see your groups shrink. Also, it usually takes a air rifle 500 or so pellets before it begins to settle down.

Excellent advice! That makes perfect sense. Thank you! I’m having fun and got the wife involved. She’s a heck of a shot, that girl!

Ok I have been tinkering with this booger. The front end dive was horrendous. I sliced some 3/8” bar steel into proper sized pieces, taped them, and stuffed them into the hollow buttstock. It is pressed in with styrofoam and held by the butt pad. While a little heavier, balance is at the trigger guard, and it points much better.
That trigger is somethin. I tightened the set screw all the way down to “lower” the trigger weight as described by Crossman. Really what it did is make a super mushy and long first stage. With that knowledge, I lightly squish through the first stage with a couple small trigger squeezes until I can perceive the sear wall. Release the trigger and now you have a much more articulate break. It is a smooth, resistance less press back to the wall and then trigger break. This has really improved the enjoyment vs work factor that came with shooting this little turd.

The added weight, and manipulation of the trigger in the work up phase of shot breaking has finally allowed me to get a HARD zero. Not a “oh it’s minute of squirrel”. As long as I can hold myself still (not really a scope person but these irons are horrendous), the bulk 500ct Crossmans will hit right where I intend.

So it’s quirky! I’m not pegging flies at 50y like I have with a tuned up CZ .22, but I am getting much more enjoyment out of the rifle now.

Sounds like exactly what I need to get that raccoon that keeps dumping on my deck. Three times so far. Need a picture of your new toy and where you got it and $$$ if you don’t mind. Actually was this it with the built in “suppressor”?

Yes that should be the same model. It’s the Shockwave. I got it for $115 or $120 at Walmart!
