Picking up my 9mm Banshee today. It only has a 5 inch barrel which doesn't thrill me. I would have preferred the 8 inch barrel for the velocity. I chose the 5 inch because I'll be adding a suppressor; 1. it will keep over all length shorter and 2. The shorter length will help keep velocity down to stay subsonic with the suppressor.

How about an AR platform in 30 Carbine? Actually I think 9mm is fine.

I haven't steered clear of the AR platform for a long time now, have a couple. I actually looked at a few of the CMMG Resolute uppers, as well as other 9mm uppers, magwell insert conversions and the conversions to Pmags, by I think Mean? I got the Scorpion mainly for my daughter and because it is a nice looking carbine. She just doesn't care for the regular AR yet. She loves the featherweight 15-22 though.
I have a few other uppers for my ARs, like 7.62x39, 6.5G, .22lr. Was looking at 9mm, and briefly toying with looking at 410 uppers, but decided against.

Hard to beat the ammo cost of 9mm though. Ruger made a .44 Magnum Carbine. Too bad they didint make a
.357 Magnum one. Ive heard .357 is a great little round in a carbine length barrel. But your pretty much limited to lever actions with that caliber.

.357 would also be awesome because you d be able to shoot common and cheap .38 Specials. Although 9mm Luger is actually more powerful than a .38 Special. But then you have the option to shoot .357s. Although you got +P ammo options with 9mm. And I feel 9mm has more +P options than .45 or the others.

If they could make an AR option that shoots .357 Magnum, id be all over it. Trouble is the rimmed cartridge and feeding in a semi-auto. Although the Desert Eagle pistol achieves this.

They are out there. You can build one on a QC10 lower.

Sounds like a good choice to me

What about the Ruger 77/357? Bolt action carbine. I think Ruger resumed production of these.

Yes they did (look for Ruger 7105). And they now have a threaded one too. (Ruger 7419)
