Looking for a person or company for a job. My home has an old egress door in the basement that was covered by a new room. They left a small space perfect for a little gun room but the door frame is only 32" x 75". Step down for the room above prevents increasing the door height. A custom vault door to shrink that 5" of height is cost prohibitive.

I'd like someone who can build a 12 gauge door frame to my spec and maybe a 12 gauge clamshell for a steel door I'm going to cut down. It won't be perfect but should provide some fire and physical security.

    Thanks for any suggestions?

The mechanism was all gone when I got it so it cannot lock. It just swings open and closed like a regular door only it weighs 300 pounds

Can you buy a standard height steel frame and door, cut 5" off the bottom of it all and repaint? I must be missing something.

Yes and that’s part of the plan at this point. The problem is I also need a metal door jam for it. I won’t get much security or fire protection with a wooden jam. One side is 12” cinder block and the other is flat so an out of the box one won’t work.

Contact welder516 he may be able to do it. If not, maybe he can recommend someone.
