If you owned the mini-14 prior to 10/2013, yes. This would include an inheritance from an estate.

    Otherwise no

Do the folding stock rules apply to SBR’s? You can still SBR AKs and other banned guns.

google is your friend, I am not.
Do the folding stock rules apply to SBR’s? You can still SBR AKs and other banned guns.

yes -As I understand the advisory, SBRs are both pistols and rifles according to the MSP: they are rifles for the purpose of the copycat rifle restrictions (29"OAL, can only have two evil features, etc), and pistols for the purpose of transport and some other items. https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Document ...rreled Shotguns and Short Barreled Rifles.pdf and https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Document Downloads/LD-FRU-15-004 Summary of Passed Legislation.pdf

So, an AK that is SBRd must have >29" OAL and cannot have both a folding stock and flash hider (assuming that there is a detachable mag). A suppressor is a FH in Maryland, so if you plan to suppress an SBR, use a collapsible stock.
