Put them in with the adult population, in the lock up, and let them get a taste of their own medicine.

That's a major part of the problem, they have no boundaries in their life nor do they care about life. I have heard a few say that they didn't think they would live past 20 so they do what they want. Yes the LEOs of BCPD try but the yoots don't have any fear of them. I have seen them taut the LEOs on the corner. They will stand there and openly smoke weed and do drug deals with the LEOs looking on from their cars. In the area where my store is located we have a couple of LEOs that don't take their crap and they are in their faces daring the yoots to not comply. But sadly with the BS from Mosby's office as well the consent decree some much is lost. Maybe with the Commissioner things might get better? Chris

Put not your faith in Police Commissioners. They do what they're told by their political managers.

A police commissioner can't be a Daddy for every fatherless boy in Baltimore. They need someone to raise them other than the streets

Are they being charged with illegal possession of a handgun or any other of the numerous firearm laws the Maryland legislature has passed over the years??

Case search is currently down until Sunday afternoon. It's hard to believe that they won't be charged with it. It's literally just a tack on since they'll all be charged with 1st degree rape, which for juveniles, is a minimum 25 year sentence.

    Edit:

Now that case search is back up, the 3 charged as adults have 44 and 45 charges each. Yes, handgun charges are among them.

Thanks, now I'll have to remember to check back in when they go to trial in 2yrs to see if the gun charges were plea bargained away.
