Built my first AR tonight

First time building an AR. Friend walked me through it and provided tools but I did most of the building. Wasn't hard with the proper tools and a coach. Lol. Just your run of the mill 5.56 AR. Nothing really special about the parts used. It's special to me though because it's mine and I built it. I know there are a ton of these new AR threads but here's mine.

PS: Does it annoy anybody that Spike's buffer tube is a light gray color?

Looks good and yeah the grey really dont match but its a nice rifle.

looks great man, gray was a bit weird once you pointed it out but I didn't notice it until you did.

Nice rifle!
My spikes tube is gray too, but it doesn't bother me.

I looked at the Spike's buffer tube kit again from JBO where I bought it from. The picture shows that it's gray. I guess it really doesn't matter since the buffer tube kit was a good deal and my rifle is a jigsaw puzzle of different colors and shades anyways.

It wasn't hard to do with the right tools. Hardest part for me was getting all the little pins lined up and inserted. No surprises so far. Everything fit together nicely.

Not yet. I'm going to hit up Freestate to break it in after I get my PMC ammo order from Cabela's. Only ammo I have for the AR right now is steel core.

If that grey ends up bothering you to much we can Cerakote it for you

Maybe some day I'll get the upper and lower coated to match the rail. I think that would look swell. I think I can live with the buffer tube. Lol.

It's $450 after 10% off at Optics Planet if anyone is interested. I was told earliest they would come in is early November though.

Nice, congrats. I bought a stripped lower, LPK, NiB B&BC, but keep finding other things to spend my money on. How much do you think you have invested excluding the scope?
