Idiot scratched my stainless 1911 the first day I had it.... Man, that was painful.

I've got a little suggestion, use a green scotch pad and punch the scratch, DON'T rub it, hit it until the scratch goes away. This works for "frosted" stainless.
If it's polished stainless, use a polish pad with jewelry paste and buff it out. I use a dremel.
I've got two SIG Platinum Elites and use the hell out of them but you won't find a scratch on them.

Lol, correct. That term has been around since...oh, probably about 1911...and yes my S&W has one.
