Im looking to buy this Vortex Spitfire Prism Scope with 3x magnification for a M&P15 I recently picked up...Anyone have this and the pro's and cons that might come in using this...
Or should I just go with the Vortex Strikefire II Riflescope, 4 MOA Red/Green Dot Reticle and buy a 4x magnifier that swings into place when needed?

This is my first AR15 platform and don't want to spend alot of bucks for a red dot on a $600.00 AR

I have this very scope on my AR and love it.

The etched reticle is verrry nice, and the illuminated settings make this a good "dot" type sight as well.

    No complaints so far.

I lucked out and got mine used for $200. Vortex's lifetime warranty still in play there ;)

you check out the strike eagle yet? If you want magnification, 6x capability is pretty nice. If you want close-up speed to be more like a red-dot, then 1x is where you want to be. Any magnification will slow you down up close.
