5.45x39 Ammo in ammoseek, wikiarms etc.

Does anyone know why the number of listings for AK74 ammo is only different stores when searching? There used to be a ton more listed by different online stores, the list has shrunk to nothing. I'm not talking about shortage or availability of ammo but just the number of results returned is remarkably low. 7.62x39 when searching there is a ton listed both back ordered and available.

Did they stop importing the AK74 ammo?

Surplus 7n6 is banned from import, yes. There are several commercial versions imported still.

They never stopped importing the commercial ammo, but there was simply not that much in the channel to begin with. SGAmmo has the Vympel 59gr for 36cpr, which isn't cheap, but is probably better than any 223 you're likely to find. It's also pretty decent stuff, with an M855-like trajectory.

Seems like 5.45x39mm has always been harder to find than 7.62 or 5.56. In my experience anyway.

I have an AK-74 to feed. Need to determine how much Golden Tiger I have left for it.

I’m happy to sell my remaining 5.45 ammo to anyone interested. Roughly 4500 rounds of various types, including a spam can of 7n6, hornady vmax, copper range safe ammo, golden tiger, and some heavy Ukrainian stuff that apparently started life as tracer jackets. Can provide an exact list upon request. Happy to sell it at 33-35 cprish FTF if someone takes it all.

I’m probably stupid not waiting for prices to shoot up in the next few months, but would rather sell to a fellow MDSer for mutually agreeable terms.
