What we should be questioning is why the government has gotten so large that someone putting together a legal defense related to using a firearm is going to cost half a million dollars.

That is beyond too large for me.

But this is a different topic for a different thread, I believe

Billable hours by an Attorney has nothing to do with a government. Expert witnesses et al... could easily charge 12 bucks an hour for their services instead of $500.
