Which ONE would you get, and why?

There's only a $150 price difference between the two, so price is not really a concern.

I'm hoping either one is a "keeper".

I've fondled both, but have shot neither.

    Both "feel" great to me.
Both have various sized backstraps, and HK even has different size grip side panels.
HK has night sights out of the box.

Both get good reviews everywhere I've looked...

Was waiting to get a Ruger since it's 2 plus weeks away from being on roster, but co-worker who just got his VP9 is ecstatic.
Doesn't mean I will be, but I do like BOTH....

The Rugers seem to be a bit harder to find, and neither is really available to rent and shoot, so not much hands on info to use...

Sadly, the VP9 did not pass Military Arms Channel "Stomp and stand on the pistol buried in the mud and gravel" torture test. LOL

MAC did not have a great review on the Ruger American either, seems the ergonomics is not conducive to certain hands.

Hk quality is tough to beat. I've never been much of a fan of ruger, so for me, it would hk no question. Especially if the vp9 is as good as everyone says it is, AND has night sights.

It definitely has night sights, and is only $550... :party29:

EDIT...DEFINITELY does NOT have the night sights...but still getting it.

Used? That's a good deal. I believe it was the "LE" version that came with night sights and 3 mags. Versus the standard version with 2 mags and no NS(the one I have)

    My bad...no night sights. :(
They are so white and bright, like my Ruger SR1911, that I "assumed" they were night sights...

    Brand new, with 2 mags

Unless they changed it they are bright neon yellow. Still good deal though. I paid $600 for mine.
