    You heard it here first...

    Biden’s six executive actions include:

The Justice Department, within 30 days, will issue a proposed rule to help stop the proliferation of “ghost guns.”
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will issue a proposed rule to make clear when a device marketed as a stabilizing brace effectively turns a pistol into a short-barreled rifle subject to the requirements of the National Firearms Act.
The Justice Department, within 60 days, will publish model “red flag” legislation for states: Red flag laws allow family members or law enforcement to petition for a court order temporarily barring people in crisis from accessing firearms if they present a danger to themselves or others.
The Administration is investing in evidence-based community violence interventions.
The Justice Department will issue an annual report on firearms trafficking.
The President will nominate David Chipman to serve as Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

I gotta get out of Maryland before these people get any further along with their agenda, they just keep ramming the door until they get through.

You can run, but you cannot hide. The left aims to get all of us. All. Where we live does not matter to them. A gun in the hands of anyone is deemed as potential violence to society. They even call gun ownership racist if they think it helps.

Actually, their agenda is driven by the fact that anyone with a gun is a potential adversary to their plans to turn the United States into a statist utopia. Insert your favorite statist agenda here: communist, socialist, fascist, ...

So what happens with this now?

This was a house committee voting on a senate bill, right? I assume a full house vote, then reconciliation between house and senate versions, then house and senate votes on final bill, a governor veto, and then override votes in house and senate?

So this could get stripped out during reconciliation I assume?

Realistically is there much of a chance this doesn't become law?

I don't care about the marijuana part.

It sounds like this bill, even if passed, takes a back seat to Joe Biden's plans on a federal level according to Beobill post. 80 percents and pistol braces are still on the chopping block. By executive order at that. Diane Feinstein assault weapon ban would be the icing on the cake. Sorry to stray from the original post but all of this combined somehow makes defeating this new proposed MD bill look like child's play. I hope to he'll this new version of SB190 dies Monday night at midnight. It would be one battle won. At least until Joe whips out his pen.

Means the House won't vote on it until tomorrow. Does this mean there are talks going on behind the scenes?

Maybe there are issues on the Senate side. The Senate JPC Chair might not be too happy with the HJC for essentially bypassing his committee with the HJC's maneuver.

Remember a couple years ago when Atterbeary tried to direct the Senate JPC Chair to add all of her LGQL and other nasty stuff back into the Senate versions of the long gun bills? The Senate leadership basically told her "You do not tell the Senate what to do." and let her bill die on Sine Die with no Senate vote.

Maybe she"s being an arrogant ass again and annoying Senate leadership.

One can only hope. Obviously I'm against all of this crap that the MGA wants to pass but my bigger issue if that they are purposely ignoring the state constitution and breaking the rules to do so.

I can't help but feel like the senate is aware of that and isn't going to blindly follow Frosh's halfwit opinion.

The last thing these people want to do is give us a good avenue to challenge them legally.

If they can outlaw a legally home built Glock, then they can outlaw a factory built Glock. This law and others will likely result in the home build market exploding.

I called a bunch of Senators and Delegates today. W Smith's (the Senate JPC chair) assistant seemed to indicate he was not happy with the change.

That's good news. He's pretty well respected on the Senate side. It may never see a floor vote there in its House-revised form, then.

I like having adversaries like Atterbeary. It's easier to fight someone who is puts that much effort into being self-defeating. Just like Dumais bullied her way into irrelevance in the House.
