I have a “beater” M1911 made in January 1913 that I would like to shoot occasionally, but not with the original barrel. As the photo shows, there is a slight profile difference between it and later barrels. Note the smooth transition of the original on the top and the clear machining “cut” on the bottom. In all other respects they are identical. Would using the modern barrel cause any issues?
