Not sure if I think this is really cool or just stupid.

SON OF A BITCH! I thought of this very idea today when I was driving in and out of the city.

I did think of a different modification though and also took in some safety consideration about actually having the cup secured so that it doesn't fly out in a collision.

Now I can see that getting the cops in an uproar.

Why? Many cops have seen my pistol on my console on their approach before they even have seen my creds. NEVER an issue in 18 years. Someone legally carrying had no issue having their pistol visible. Criminals hide their pistols.

It would be better if it was a foam holder that was secured into the rectangular spot under the radio. Better angle and you could still put a cup of coffee in the console.

I have a holster attached to my transmission hump....much more secure.

I prefer my cup holders to have coffee in them. Not a bad idea though. I wonder how easy the draw is, or if you get a handful of cup when you draw.

My idea incorporates and angled dowel the barrel slides over. Allowing you to rotate it 360° to a comfortable draw positionb that suits you best. A straight upward draw I am not a fan of.

Be careful... A foam-filled can around the muzzle could be construed as an illegal silencer! :innocent0
