As MPDC4511 has told us, DC has upgraded their registration requirements to comply with the Heller III appellate decision

The web site has also now been updated.

    http://mpdc.dc.gov/service/firearm-registration-district-columbia

    In short

No longer have top bring firearm to MPDC for registration
No longer have to take the law test
No limit on monthly gun registrations
    No renewal of registration required.

Can somebody help me out with this please. I'm out of state, need to register my gun (to go along with concealed carry permit app). The form for gun registration appears to be here:

    https://mpdc.dc.gov/node/1285016

This looks like either a gun transfer or buy from a store. Also says seller and buyer must sign at same time. The gun I want to register is a Glock and is on the list, but I bought it brand new 10 years ago. Do I still mark new? or currently that its used(by me only). Not even sure which store I got it from....Do I need to go back there and get them to sign this thing so I can register my gun with DC?

If anybody can advise on this that would be great.

They actually don't register the gun when you go down . You actually pay the fee after you are approved for CCW.

And you no longer are required to bring the gun to MPDC HQ

    Gotcha
Also I learned, after coming from DC Firearms today, that if you're out of state, you no longer need an out of state permit to get a DC CCW. I mean it was still on the application I turned in saying I needed. Guess they'll take their time from removing it from the online application

The requirement for another state permit for a DC non resident is still in the statute unless they changed it.

    Wonder what gives?
