    I'm sure it's been asked many times but...what clubs around Maryland have Garand matches? Any coming up soon? I have never shot a Garand match anywhere but would like to give it a try some time. Where/when?

    (I'm on the eastern shore but can certainly do a little driving.)

    Yeah...Sanner's Lake might be a bit far. My GPS says it is almost two hours from where I live. Hopefully I will be able to find something closer. But thanks for your response!

    The Anne Arundel Fish and Game Association has military rifle matches with the CMP format on certain weekends. I have wanted to go for a while but I haven’t been yet. They are just over the bay bridge. https://aafg.org

    so it looks like these are military rifle matches and not dedicated Garand matches. On the right weekend you could use your Garand there though.

    When & Where

    R1 (100-yard rifle range)
    Registration: 12:00 p.m.
    Safety briefing and shooting starts: 12:30 p.m.
    Duration: 3-4 hours

    Usually the 3rd Sunday of each month, with exceptions based on other SLCFSA events. Please check the SLCFSA calendar.

    Jan: Battle of the Bulge
    Feb: Frozen Chosin – Korean War Era Rifle
    Mar: Foreign Bolt Action or Straight Pull Rifles
    Apr: Any Nationality, Any Era
    May: U.S. Bolt Action
    Jun: D-Day – WWII Era Rifles
    Jul: Any Nationality, Any Era
    Aug: Vietnam Era Rifles
    Sep: M1 Garand and M1 Carbine AS ISSUED
    Oct: Battle Of The Black Sea (Any Nationality)
    Nov: No Shoot
    Dec: World War 1


    What to Bring

    Eye protection
    Ear protection
    Military rifle with open sights
    Sling, if you have one
    Empty chamber flag (we have extras)
    2 clips or magazines for rapid fire
    58 rounds of ammo, minimum
    Spotting scope and shooting mat (we usually have extras to borrow)

    Adults are $5
    Juniors shoot free and are strongly encouraged to attend! Juniors must be accompanied by an adult.
