All the locations you mention are within a mile of each other and two miles from my location. The east end of Frederick Co., semi-rural as it is, has a very low police presence. If a sheriff's deputy didn't live in my neighborhood I would almost never see one.

In these bad economic times (for some) the desperate ones figure out where the easy targets are and where the police are not likely to be.

The robbery yesterday was at about eight in the morning. L.E. shift change turnover likely in progress.

Damn, robbery of 7-11s and liquor stores!

I think we should call this the Cliché' Bandit.

Unfortunately, there appear to be multiple desperate individuals involved. The 7-11 suspect is of the darker persuasion, where the liquor store suspect is of the lighter persuasion. I really don't need one of these douchenozzles trying to carjack my wife while she's taking the kids to school.

Regardless of ethnicity, I just don't comprehend the risk/reward tradeoff. Given that credit and debit cards are pretty ubiquitous, how much cash is the guy really expecting to get from the till? $70? Even if it was $500, I don't see that being enough of a payday to risk armed robbery (then again, I don't really consider myself "desperate" right now.)

WtF? This stuff is hapening way too close to home.
Multiple robberies of the dinky Suntrust bank at 75/80.
Armed robbery of the Monrovia 7-11.
And yesterday, a douchebag robbed the mom-and-pop Green Valley beer/convenience store. My son came home from school telling us how they spent half the day in lock-down because the perp was roaming the area behind the school.

I love that place. The older woman was a friendly. I always bout my yuengling there when I was up that way!

That area is risky business for perps. Will be leaving horizontally sooner or later.

$500 is hitting the lottery for the scum in question. Probably have a felony record already. Probably figure the worst they risk is three hots, cot, and cable TV courtesy of you and me.

It's the one on 80 (at Lynn Burke) in the old strip mall next to the gas station.

It's the 7-11 that used to have an ice cream shop next to it..."A Cool Dip?", liquor store and pizza and sub joint...in that little older shopping center maybe 10 years ago? Before the gas station was there....

Is that the 7-11 in that little shopping center up from the Race Track going towards Penn Shop Rd.?

It's not in any shopping center but it is like a block from the Intersection of 75 and 80 close to the Windsor Knowles Middle school area

Ah. I was thinking of the other 7-11 more toward Kemptown. I was curious since a friend of mine used to own that 7-11.

No if you exit out of 75-80 and make a right. Then make a right at the bank (sun trust I think) heading towards Windsor Knowles, the store will be on the bottom of the hill on your left. Very friendly staff and always has a fully stocked yuengling section.

I think you have the 7-11 mixed up with the grocery store.

The 7-11 is in a strip shopping center, with a couple of stores and next to a BP gas station, and Dominic's Pizza.

The mom and pop place is freestanding, just south of 80 on 75.

In my hood (now, I am in east moco), the hoodrats like to find unlocked cars and go through them. We don't have fancy GPS devices or DVD players, but the few times that we have forgotten to lock our cars and they have gotten in, they always steal any change in the cup holder. That $300 stroller in the back, **** that, I am taking the $.48!

    Hoodrats will steal anything.
