cross posted to the other thread, but this deserves as much attention as it can get, especially being they cut the usual 90 day comment period down to 2 weeks. Figure if this is how they want to play it a month BEFORE the inauguration, think about what will happen afterwards if we sit around and do nothing.

Anyone else blocked from the link if you are using a VPN? Fed doesn't like your comments if they can't verify your address I guess.

Comments are all very well, but they will be ignored, just like all the reasonable arguments against the bumpstock ban.

Now that election results are known before the voting, there are even fewer constraints against tyranny, if any at all.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, electrons are cheap....here's my response, that I composed based upon another from someone else. Anyone please feel free to benchmark off it and/or use it as a boiler plate:

    --------cut line--------------
I strongly object to the proposed actions set forth by ATF related to Classifying Weapons with Stabilizing braces. In the past the ATF has found these items to be perfectly legal and the proposed new vague “definitions” followed by the idea they should now become NFA items and registered and tracked just like machine guns and suppressors is totally subjective, ludicrous and an obvious bid to force registration of weapons and a violation of the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Millions of Stabilizing Braces are in the hands of lawful citizens, and do not make any attached firearm ultra-hazardous or more likely for misuse. In fact, no evidence is presented for any public safety reason why these items should suddenly be perceived as “needing” additional or narrower definitions and ultimately registration. Continued action by BATF has the ability to make one million owners criminals-after they relied up on BATF regulations stating these items were legal to own and use as the consumer saw fit.

The initiation of this action this week follows a search warrant raid by ATF last week on the 80% Polymer company where ATF is now claiming selling non-functioning plastic frames, sold with the parts needed to assemble a pistol are now somehow illegal. Once again ATF told the company and other companies selling the 80% complete frames are legal for several years now, and it is within federal law to assemble your own firearm, yet they now claim selling all necessary parts at the same time instead of purchasing them separately are somehow illegal.

These actions, coming just days after the 2020 elections are obvious politically motivated gun control schemes – the worst kind of regulation- as well as being wielded by a Government Agency against law abiding citizens. Notice of this is being held just prior to Christmas and obviously planned to slide under the public radar in addition tos being patently against our Second Amendment rights.

Please halt any further action related to Stabilizing Braces as well as sudden post-election interest in 80% firearms, these action further act to polarize the American public.

Be sure you actually read all the requirements before submitting a comment otherwise you are quite literally wasting your time because your comment will be discarded.

ATF has set up the comment period during the holidays, and for only two weeks, which is very short. Clearly they do not want comments from the public. Your voice matters. If you can, Please take the time to post a short, polite comment opposing the new rules.

Because they've already been ordered by the "incoming" administration to do what they've done and change the regulation to make millions instant felons. You're wasting your time whether you read and adhere to the new rules or not.

I got confirmation my comments were submitted. Not that I am holding my breath that it'll make a difference.

In the directions on the site it states specifically that they may not take into account any responses that they consider form letters or duplicates.

After submission, your comment will be processed by the agency and posted to Regulations.gov. At times, an agency may choose not to post a submitted comment. Reasons for not posting the comment can include:
The comment is part of a mass submission campaign or is a duplicate.
    The comment is incomplete.
The comment is not related to the regulation.
The comment has been identified as spam.
The comment contains Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data.
The comment contains profanity or other inappropriate language.
The submitter requested the comment not be posted.
    Form Letters
Organizations often encourage their members to submit form letters designed to address issues common to their membership. Organizations including industry associations, labor unions, and conservation groups sometimes use form letters to voice their opposition or support of a proposed rulemaking. Many in the public mistakenly believe that their submitted form letter constitutes a "vote" regarding the issues concerning them. Although public support or opposition may help guide important public policies, agencies make determinations for a proposed action based on sound reasoning and scientific evidence rather than a majority of votes. A single, well-supported comment may carry more weight than a thousand form letters.
