Buddy of mine found a ammo can in his deceased grandfather’s basement full of these. No rifles were found. I know it’ll be difficult to identify with the head stamps about worn off but maybe I’ll get lucky. I’ll attach some pics with calibers

It would help to measure the bullet diameter just above the mouth.

To small for .30-06. Close to .308/7.62, but not quite.

Close to a 7mm-08, but a bit too long.

So the big deal will be if these are reloadable
How many are in the can?
Or should I say is the can full and is it a 30 or 50 cal can?

Minimum it could be worth 50 cents a round but you will need to know more about what you got. If you don’t find out, it will devalue. You could get a reloader person to pull the bullet and weigh it and check primed system.

Try to find the best head stamp and get better pics.

Good chance it’s berdan primed (not reloadable) and corrosive primed.

    Hmm
    FMMAP 1947 ?

Looks like the same as the ones in my Argentine Cavalry carbine thread in C&R section
Mine are. Corrosive, berdan primed 174gr likely valued at about 60 cents a round

Weed out any that has greenish corrosion around the crimp. Those have high probability of being a dud from water intrusion.
