    Sorry....I got to ask a stupid question referring to FSA2013. Is there any logic to the 29" OAL rule? If it can be made into a SBR or pistol then what is there the OAL rule? Or is just one of those things I won't understand like HBAR vs Lwt?

    IIRC, they wanted 30", but that would have outlawed the Beretta CX4. Beretta complained, they dropped it to 29", and then Beretta moved to Tennessee anyway!

    Originally was 30in , but was dropped to 29in in attempt to appease Berretta , whose then new CX4 was 29.whatever in .

    But the short answer is don't expect it to make sense .

    Someone should have convinced them that bigger was more deadlier. I’m sure more that a few idiots would have brought into the argument. Maybe they would have banned all semi-auto’s over 40” when fully extended into the maximum kill position.

    At least your original question, SBRs have to follow the 29” OAL restriction.

    So there is that point. Also you can’t make a rifle in to a pistol. Big no, no. It has to start life as a pistol.
