    Pictures to crappy to post.
It’s just a generic SS Colt 1991A1 series 80 Compact, has the 1991A1 “Billboard Stamping”. Made in 1999.
I did find a matching Commander slide for it.
The previous owner installed the EGW Officers Guide Rod & Spring Kit w/ Clark Plug.

Also has VZ grips, which I am not fond of.
I want to change the grips to ones better suited for my arthritic hands. Any suggestions?

A pistol I worked with my son to build. Since this pic it now fitted with an Ed Brown ambi safety and, of course, a slide stop. All stainless with minimal play between the slide and frame and barrel lockup is tight. Upper half is a Kimber Special Edition Gold Match assembly. Lower is a Foster (Caspian) frame with the good stuff in it. Rear sight has a bar tritium dial. It has been test fired, runs right and is accurate. Now I just have put a tritium dot sight on the front, stipple the front strap, knock off sharp corners in the hand contact areas, blend the magwell, do the remaining finish blending, and touch up the handling marks.

Looking good there... who's is it yours or your Son's ??? gotta ask..
You got the "build bug alright" and the addiction. the blending takes
the time, but the end result is awesome, one I want to build is like a
AMT long slide, then something along a compact.
Been saving for a milling machine for a while but 80% stuff keeps taking
big bites into the "mill fund", some one has a sale and there it goes...
and I ain't gonna "charge it" or make "payments" nope..nope..

It is his pistol. I accumulated the parts and happened on a couple of these Kimber uppers and they are very nice...barely shot. I had the frame, components grips. He did as much as he could. He has since moved out of state and left the pistol here because he may be moving again...you know how those youngin's are. But I did get the pistol he commandeered from me back.

Are 2011's allowed in this thread?

I had this Warwick Tactical "Outlaw" built for me this past spring. It is a fun gun to shoot, look at it, and fondle.

Beauty. I have an 80% 2011 frame to do at some point.
