Is the trip to Shydas worth it compared to just buying online from places like Gamaliel's, Precision Reloading, Bart's, etc. and just having is shipped to my doorstep? I ask because I really do not know. Some shotgun shooting friends used to rave about Shydas all the time, but that was when the internet and retail sales over the internet was non-existent or in its infancy. I am guessing the only reason for me to stop in at Shydas might be to buy shot to reload for shotguns. Wish I had known you were there. Could have used a price update on shot to compare it to what PG Trap & Skeet charges. Guess I could always just pick up the phone and call for that information.
So, how much did you end up getting? Was the car riding a lot lower on the drive home? lol
If I could get a bulk deal on shot, I would take the truck up there and/or just swing by on the way home when we are up that way.
Did an earthquake hit it?

I would love to check out the wolf sanctuary
Fabs,
While it isn't as cheap as it used to be, you can still save a lot of money in comparison to buying from Bass Pro / Cabelas. For example; I can get shot for $35 per bag when BP is $50, primers are $30 vs $40+ for BP, powder by the pound is about $8 to $12 cheaper than BP and even cheaper if you buy 8#s. Since I make my own bullets, I don't know how much they are but I'm pretty sure they will be cheaper than BP.
I don't drive up just to go to Shyda's. My wife and I drive up, take a train ride in Lancaster, eat some Amish food, visit some tourist traps AND go to Shyda's. Sometimes we drive up to Shyda's and then over to Allentown for Sporting Clays and down to Kempton to visit Dixon Muzzleloading and take another steam train ride.
When you do it as a side trip, it works out pretty well.
Shyda's is 17 minutes away. Just sayin.
FWIW- Shyda's is an impressive gun shop. The most impressive part is their reloading section. They have more powder/primers/projectiles than Arundel Mills BPS, Harrisburg BPS and Cristiana Cabelas combined. I am not exaggerating.

17 minutes from where? As a matter of fact, where is Shydas?
Thanks, never heard of them...
